Begin with a walk through the veld, along trails that wind through sunlit koppies, or saddle up for a horseback ride with views that open toward Stompdrift Dam. Cool off beneath the cascading Meiringspoort waterfall.s nearby. Meander to Prince Albert for the afternoon. Visit a nearby Permaculture Farm, then return to stillness, where the stars arrive like old friends and the firelight flickers low. For dinner, order our own pasture-raised Klein Karoo lamb to pair on the fire with a glass of our Kannaland wine. Simple offerings, deeply rooted.

Luxury meets Karoo hospitality at Kerneelia, a charming and secluded cottage with breathtaking mountain views, nestled on our Klein Karoo farm near De Rust. Designed with romance in mind, this off-the-grid retreat features a cozy bedroom with a king-size bed, a small bed or cot for a single child could be arranged. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, double basin, and a second toilet for your convenience. The cottage runs on solar, gas, and wood energy, ensuring a sustainable yet comfortable stay. The kitchen comes fully equipped for self-catering, with complimentary firewood provided for your first day, along with butter and milk stocked in the fridge. For a unique experience, take a refreshing dip in our oversized wine barrel, filled with pristine mountain water and ready for your relaxation.

A charming Edwardian cottage nestled in the gardens of the Le Roux family’s 1914 farmhouse offers a tranquil escape on our Klein Karoo farm. The cottage features two en-suite bedrooms and a cozy, separate kitchen accessible from the second bedroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a four-poster queen-size bed, while the second bedroom offers two comfortable single beds. The well-equipped kitchenette is ideal for self-catering, and the shared farm swimming pool is just a stone’s throw away for a refreshing dip. A small study adjoining the main bedroom provides a quiet space for reading or reflection. To make winters especially cozy, we’ve added a new fireplace in the dining area. Firewood for your first day is complimentary, along with a daily light breakfast delivered to your door and a bottle of our Kannaland wine to enjoy on arrival.
Meals and Picnics
Our cottages are self catering, but we are happy to provide meals if requested. Dishes are prepared from seasonal farm produce. Our pasture-raised lamb braai basket is a must try.
